What information is needed to apply for a home loan?
In order to provide enough information to lenders competing for your business, Modernlend asks for type of loan you are looking for (refinance, purchase, home equity, etc.), your name and address, contact information, your income. If you are refinancing your home loan, we will need to know the terms of your existing mortgage, how much you owe and how much you want to borrow.

No, Modernlend wants to ensure that your information is sent to lenders securely and accurately. The possibility of transcription errors, additional costs and unnecessary delays when using mail, email and fax reduce the benefits of using Modernlend. Do I have to use one of Modernlend lenders?
No, you are not obligated to use one of our lenders. However, we think you will be pleased with the home loan offers you will receive from our network of lenders.

Will each lender pull my credit?
Each lender has their own policy for pulling your credit report. Most lenders will require you to provide your social security number before pulling your credit. Some lenders may pull your credit before contacting you to clarify which loan programs they will have available to you, before making an offer. However, Modernlend will never pull your credit.

How will this affect my credit?
Inquiries for a mortgage to purchase a home, refinance a home, a home equity loan or line of credit or an auto loan within a 14 day period normally count as one inquiry. When looking for a personal loan or credit card each inquiry is counted as a separate inquiry.
